Remark AI is seeking a Graduate Back-End Software Engineer to complement its existing team for the development of its AI-driven video analytics platform.

Someone that is passionate about software engineering and about delivering a quality product to end users. This role sits within our existing engineering team, focussed on the technical build of our Smart Safety Platform.

Our video analytics works with existing video or CCTV systems to keep workers, spaces, and valuable assets safe along with buildings secure.

As a back-end developer, you will work closely with our inhouse team of Engineers along with the Product Manager to deliver and drive the product roadmap.

As a member of the engineering team, you will be part of:

• The architectural decision-making process
• The creating of re-usable code and libraries for future use.
• The optimization of the video analytics solutions (e.g. speed & scalability)
• A self-organizing and cross-functional agile team

The successful candidate will develop skills in the following areas:

• Python/C++ software development experience
• Flask/Fast API, Elasticsearch/ELK, Nginx, Redis, Kafaka or Mqtt, RabbitMQ skills
• ETL, relational databases such as MySQL, GraphQL and non-SQL database
• Cloud technologies like Docker, Kubernetes and AWS/Google Cloud Platform
• UNIX or Linux Operating systems

You will:

• Develop high quality, testable and performant software
• Work within a self-organizing and cross-functional Agile team
• Apply TDD and BDD approaches to ensure that quality is baked into the implementation
• Craft large scale service-oriented systems
• Work on software performance optimization
• Work on Restful API design for use in a real time environment.
• Support and maintain the live applications along with the team
